  • There's not much on my radar this week news-wise. I'm also in the middle of a busy second week working a new job, so it's entirely possible I've simply missed news I'd care to write about. Either way, I'm mailing it in rather than forcing myself to write about nothing.

Instead, I'll share one of my favorite entertainment-related COVID-era finds: the YouTube channel Omeleto, which collects high quality short films. Working from home, my lunch hour has become a sacred time where I try to completely detach from anything work related. Omeleto's short films have become a perfect way to turn my brain off and experience something very different before walking back over to my desk and resuming work.

There's a lot of good ones on the channel so I'll leave a few below to get you started on your next lunch break.

Nominated for an Oscar, Feeling Through is a powerful story about selflessness.

Clever, heartwarming, and a little sad—all in just 15 min

Wonderful love story that plays with time via a unique premise.

A nuanced character study, powered by good dialog and featuring some solid editing and camera work.

A humorous time travel story with an ending you might not expect.

A cinematic retelling of Andy Weir's short story The Egg.

Great chemistry and natural, funny dialog make these characters' flirting a joy to watch.

A weird, quirky love story that has some Wes Anderson in its DNA.
